Northern Manhattan residents come from Harlem, East Harlem and the Bronx. Our residents are active participants in their care with the support of our interdisciplinary team. Our staff strives to support each resident’s strengths and abilities in a safe, secure environment that promotes self esteem and family comfort.
Our residents’ goals are translated into active interventions by our staff in order to fulfill residents’ expectations. In the case of short- term rehabilitation residents, the goal of returning to the community after completion of helpful therapies is first and foremost in the care plan developed by the staff.
Our facilities are spacious and clean, designed with the comfort of your loved one in mind. Residents enjoy semi-private rooms equipped with electric beds, telephone access and cable connection. For convenience, a dental suite is located on the first floor, and the facility also provides on-site laundering for each resident. A barber and beautician are also available at our on-site beauty shop. The facility has a patio and a rooftop garden with panoramic views of the city where weekly barbecues are held during the summer months and where residents and families can enjoy each others’ company.
Northern Manhattan has a large gymnasium where restorative therapies are provided by a well-trained team of physical, occupational and speech therapists. Each unit in the facility is equipped with a large dining room, resident lounge and open area for recreational programs. Our beautiful buildings are designed to help provide every resident with any want or need they may possibly have.
